Proposed Sites On Consultation
Greater Manchester Consultation
Greater Manchester currently produces some 1.4 million tonnes of municipal wastes a year. A new PFI Waste Management Contract will help us all move towards a more sustainable system with higher levels of recycling and recovery of household waste.
In January 2007, the Greater Manchester Waste Disposal Authority (GMWDA) announced that a consortium of Viridor Waste Management Limited and John Laing Infrastructure Limited (Viridor/Laing) as the preferred bidder for the Authority’s long-term PFI Waste Management Contract.
Viridor/Laing is currently progressing through the planning system with proposals for new and improved waste management facilities across Greater Manchester.
Your feedback on the proposals is very important. Viridor/Laing is keen to receive and consider the views of local residents and stakeholders, and to take these into account in as it finalising the proposals.
We will be hosting public exhibitions on the proposals in the near future. Please visit this site for further details.
